Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Integration with ZTXGate

Endpoint risk should influence access to sensitive resources, not remain isolated inside an EDR console.

ZTXGate can use available information from Microsoft Defender for Endpoint as a device-posture input when evaluating resource access in connected environments.

Bring Endpoint Security Context into Access Policy

A ZTXGate policy can combine Defender-derived posture or risk information with user identity, enrolled device identity, resource sensitivity, time, location, approval, and authentication requirements.

The result is a resource-level decision that can distinguish between a known user on a healthy endpoint and the same user on a device that no longer meets the required security posture.

Complement Microsoft Intune

Organizations often use Microsoft Intune for device management and compliance while Defender for Endpoint contributes endpoint-security and risk context.

ZTXGate can use supported posture information as policy inputs without turning either Microsoft platform into the network-access enforcement point.

Respond When Conditions Change

ZTXGate supports continuous policy enforcement. If a relevant posture condition changes while access is active, ZTXGate can revoke access when the configured policy is no longer satisfied.

That helps connect endpoint-security state to actual resource access rather than checking posture only once at initial authentication.

Keep Access Decisions Resource-Specific

Not every application needs the same posture threshold.

An organization can apply stronger requirements to administrative, production, financial, or other sensitive systems while allowing different policy for lower-risk resources.

Additional verification can also be required according to policy, including integrated ZTXBAS biometric authentication when licensed.

Deployment Considerations

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is an external service dependency. ZTXGate must be able to reach the required Microsoft service for the integration to contribute live posture information.

The core ZTXGate access platform itself can remain customer- or MSP-operated and does not require a mandatory CoreZT-hosted cloud control plane.
